December 12, 2024 Job ID: 23239

AbCellera is breaking the barriers of conventional drug development to propel antibody-based medicines from target to clinic. We are a team of scientists, engineers, creatives, and business professionals who believe that advancing science enhances lives. We have developed technologies to unlock high-value drug targets, including antibody-drug conjugates and T-cell engagers for cancer, and complex transmembrane proteins for indications such as metabolic and endocrine conditions, pain, and autoimmunity.

We are looking for a highly motivated Research Scientist with an immunology and/or oncology background to join our Lead Biology Assessment team. You will contribute to the functional assessment and development of bispecific and multispecific T cell engagers, with a focus on characterizing the breadth and quality of T cell responses. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, executing, analyzing, and interpreting the data from scientific experiments, and presenting the data at multidisciplinary team meetings. You are a highly motivated individual who is excited to contribute to the development of novel T cell engagers. Above all, you are a team player who thrives in a fast-paced work environment with multiple competing priorities.

How you might spend your days

  • Designing, optimizing, and executing in vitro and ex vivo functional assays to test pre-clinical bispecific and multispecific T cell engagers
  • Performing routine immunological and T cell-specific assays including flow cytometry, cytokine analyses, cytotoxicity, and mechanism of action studies
  • Working with adherent and suspension cell culture, including primary immune and cancer cell lines
  • Collaborating with other team members across the company to meet project deliverables and timelines
  • Preparing reports (documents, presentations) to present to internal project teams

We'd love to hear from you if

  • You have a PhD in Immunology, Oncology, or related field, or a MSc plus 5 years of experience in an academic or industry environment
  • You have demonstrated experience in T cell biology, immuno-oncology, and/or T cell functional assays
  • You have hands-on experience using techniques such as flow cytometry for immune cell phenotyping, MSD or Luminex for cytokine analyses, and/or experience with technical platforms to assess T cell dependent cytotoxicity
  • You think critically, are curious, and are competent in experimental design and execution
  • You are good at communicating scientific and/or technical concepts
  • You are self-motivated, highly organized, and work as part of a team to meet goals under tight project timelines

What we offer

AbCellera’s hiring range for this role is CAD $75,200 - $94,000 annually, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we offer equity, annual bonus dependent on team and company performance, and a 6% (non-match) RRSP contribution.

You will have a CAD $1,500 annual Active Lifestyle Allowance, annual vacation, professional development opportunities, and comprehensive health benefits. Scientific and technical mentorship is a priority. And you’ll find we prioritize teams and social groups to build community and connections across AbCellera.
