We are looking for an enthusiastic Electrical Specialist to join our Facilities and Engineering team, playing a key role in the start-up, commissioning, operations, and maintenance of electrical equipment & instruments in our new GMP manufacturing facility. In this role, based in beautiful Vancouver, you will work closely with manufacturing operations, process engineering, quality and other technical operations functions.
How you might spend your days:
- Installing, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, servicing and repairing industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical controls in our Manufacturing plant and other facilities
- Working with a project team and third party vendors to develop data to define the maintenance and calibration program in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Following safe electrical practices and supporting electrical risk management at site
- Troubleshooting manufacturing and utility equipment during plant start-up, commissioning and operations
- Responding to real-time requests for electrical support from manufacturing, quality and process development teams to support 24/7 operations
- Continuously driving improvements to established processes, increasing speed and efficiency while meeting regulatory requirements
We’d love to hear from you if:
- You have 6+ years of progressive experience in an industrial plant operation or similar industry with a red seal certification for an industrial electrician
- You have a valid Technical Safety BC Class IV Power Engineering certificate or higher (preferred)
- You have significant knowledge and experience on utility and manufacturing equipment such as motors, generators, transformers, UPS, variable frequency drives, pumps and lighting systems
- You have a strong mechanical aptitude and electrical knowledge and have the ability to perform varied maintenance and repair tasks
- You have experience with Building Management Systems and using a CMMS
- You are passionate about working with dynamic teams and building capabilities that accomplish important goals
- You are a creative and innovative thinker, with the ability to identify potential issues before they arise
What we offer:
AbCellera’s hiring range for this role is CAD $71,900 - $89,900 annually, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we offer equity, annual bonus dependent on team and company performance, and a 6% (non-match) RRSP contribution.
