We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant to join our Logistics team. You will be working together with our dynamic team to support the central services that are essential to the operation of our laboratory teams at AbCellera. As the Lab Operations Assistant, you will assist with maintaining inventories of consumables and reagents and informing colleagues of received goods. 

How you might spend your days

  • Using laboratory glassware washers, autoclaves and ovens to clean and sterilize laboratory glassware and other labware
  • Performing maintenance on lab services equipment, such as autoclaves, glassware washers, ovens, water purification systems, and freezers
  • Collecting used laboratory garments in a timely manner and redistributing clean garments
  • Supporting with chemical and hazardous waste management in collaboration with the Safety Team
  • Receiving incoming shipments from various vendors, while quality checking and assessing shipment condition
  • Managing the flow of inventories in an inventory management system and organizing the distribution of materials to central storage locations
  • Writing and maintaining proper documentation (including SOPs and Work Instructions) and record keeping
  • Transporting materials between various buildings using a company vehicle

  • You are friendly and personable with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • You have a high school diploma, or equivalent with at least two years of experience in a related field or you have a post secondary diploma or certificate in a related field
  • You have the ability to lift up to 40lbs
  • You have a class 5 driver's license
  • You show initiative and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment 
  • You have excellent documentation and organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail 
  • You are accountable, reliable, punctual, and resilient, with an unwavering work ethic 

What we offer

AbCellera’s hiring range for this role is CAD $50,000 - $62,000 annually, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we offer equity, annual bonus dependent on team and company performance, and a 6% (non-match) RRSP contribution.
