We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Master Data Manager to join our team of operational subject matter experts, Information Technology professionals, and cross-functional analysts and developers, to define, design, and execute technical solutions that address our system and data needs across the organization. 

The Master Data Manager will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive Master Data Management (MDM) strategy to enhance data accuracy, consistency, and governance across key business domains, including Finance, Manufacturing, Procurement and Logistics, Partnering, and People & Culture. This pivotal role involves establishing and maintaining the master data lifecycle management from creation to retirement, ensuring the integrity and quality of critical data across the organization. Contributions by the successful candidate will help build robust data solutions that meet the needs of a rapidly growing and innovative company today and in the future. How you might spend your days

  • Developing and implementing strategies for effective master data management, aligning with the organization's business objectives and data governance policies
  • Leading the creation, maintenance, and governance of master data processes and standards to ensure consistent data quality and integrity across all business units
  • Collaborating with IT, business stakeholders, and data stewards to identify and prioritize data requirements, integration, and improvement initiatives
  • Overseeing the management of master data entities and attributes, including the establishment of a data catalog and data lineage documentation
  • Designing and implementing data quality metrics and controls to monitor the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of master data across systems
  • Facilitating training and awareness programs to promote a culture of data accountability and governance across the organization
  • Providing technical and strategic advice on data integration, architecture, and analytics projects to support operational and analytical use cases
  • Leading cross-functional projects to resolve data quality issues, implement enhancements, and support the adoption of MDM practices
  • Staying abreast of industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements affecting master data management and data governance 

We'd love to hear from you if you

  • Have at least 5+ years of experience working with SAP master data, demonstrating a profound understanding of its application within business processes
  • Are familiar with leading Master Data Management (MDM) tools and technologies, including data modeling and data quality tools
  • Possess excellent knowledge of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and QMS (Quality Management Systems) applications and their support roles in Finance, Procurement, Logistics, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance.
  • Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field 
  • Have strong Project Management skills, capable of leading projects to successful completion with a clear understanding of project management methodologies and tools
  • Are proactive in identifying the root causes of issues and developing effective solutions. Your approach to problem-solving is both innovative and practical.
  • Remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity, demonstrating the ability to navigate and thrive in a changing environment
  • Are able to balance working autonomously with collaborating effectively with teams across the organization, contributing to a cohesive work environment. 
  • Have experience with or interest in designing and implementing data governance frameworks and standards (e.g., DAMA DMBOK)
  • Are hoping to refine your proficiency in programming languages relevant to data management and analysis (e.g., SQL, Python)
  • Have or are interested in improving your knowledge of general and industry-specific data regulations and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, SOX, HIPAA, ALCOA, CFR Title 21, etc.) and how to ensure data practices meet these requirements

What we offer

AbCellera’s hiring range for this role is CAD $96,900 - $121,200 annually, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we offer equity, annual bonus dependent on team and company performance, and a 6% (non-match) RRSP contribution.
