AbCellera is breaking the barriers of conventional drug development to propel antibody-based medicines from target to clinic. We are a team of scientists, engineers, creatives, and business professionals who believe that advancing science enhances lives. We have developed technologies to unlock high-value drug targets, including antibody-drug conjugates and T-cell engagers for cancer, and complex transmembrane proteins for indications such as metabolic and endocrine conditions, pain, and autoimmunity.

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Technician with a strong understanding of bioanalytical methods for antibodies or proteins to join our multidisciplinary Pharmacokinetics (PK) team. In this role, you will be based in the lab and have a great opportunity to help build out PK capabilities supporting lead antibody identification and progression into the clinic. You are a highly motivated and self-directed individual, a team-player who thrives in a fast-paced work environment with multiple competing priorities, and above all, someone who can learn and grow with us.

How you might spend your days

  • Performing ELISA, MSD, and other molecular biology assays on study samples with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy to support pharmacokinetics studies
  • Generating pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic data from biological samples to critically assess the promise of individual antibody programs
  • Supporting the development of new bioanalytical methods and optimizing workflows for the detection of antibody therapeutics, or their effects, in biological samples
  • Collaborating with teams across the company to solve problems, analyze, interpret and communicate data
  • Growing your technical skill set and engaging in professional development
  • Supporting laboratory management including keeping inventory of consumables and reagents
  • Overseeing sample management including sample receipt, organization, and archiving

We'd love to hear from you if

  • You have experience with Ligand Based Assays such as ELISA, ideally in an industry setting, and are excited about the opportunity to learn and apply new lab techniques in a drug development setting
  • You have a BSc in a relevant field with at least 1 year work experience in an industrial or academic wet lab environment
  • You have exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities, as well as excellent documentation, organizational, and communication skills
  • You have proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a cross-functional team
  • You have experience running pharmacokinetic studies and analyzing pharmacokinetic data, and have a strong understanding of antibody structure and function (desirable)
  • You enjoy a fast-paced work environment and are a creative problem solver who believes in teamwork to tackle the most challenging problems

What we offer

AbCellera’s hiring range for this role is CAD $53,900 - $67,300 annually, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we offer equity, annual bonus dependent on team and company performance, and a 6% (non-match) RRSP contribution.

You will have a CAD $1,500 annual Active Lifestyle Allowance, annual vacation, professional development opportunities, and comprehensive health benefits. Scientific and technical mentorship is a priority. And you’ll find we prioritize teams and social groups to build community and connections across AbCellera.
