We are seeking a highly motivated and conscientious Research Technician with a passion for molecular biology to join our cross-functional Molecular Design and Engineering group with the goal of establishing and expanding the use of library-based approaches for antibody and protein engineering. How you might spend your days:

  • Working with our cross-functional team to create therapeutic antibody and protein antigen engineering techniques, with a strong focus on molecular biology - specifically, developing and implementing plasmid library techniques
  • Contributing hands-on to a variety of library generation protocols including cloning of input plasmids, library generation, and purification
  • Assisting in quality assurance experiments & analysis including Next-generation sequencing analysis, Sanger sequencing, qPCR, and DNA electrophoresis 
  • Routine handling of bacterial cell cultures including bacterial transformation, plating, colony counting, clone purification & DNA extractions
  • Maintaining cell stocks and freezer inventories 
  • Preparing, labeling and making aliquots of common lab reagents
  • Organizing, ordering and managing common inventory and reagents
  • Supporting and collaborating with members from various teams to meet project deliverables and timelines
  • Preparing and presenting data at team meetings
  • Growing your technical skill set and engaging in professional development

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum BSc with work experience in a laboratory environment preferred, or MSc in relevant field (may include but not limited to Cell Biology, Immunology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Health Sciences)
  • Background in standard molecular biology techniques including PCR and/or qPCR, sterile technique 
  • Excellent communication skills and problem solving 
  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • (Optional, but desired) Experience in standard cloning techniques including Gibson and Golden Gate assembly, bacterial culture, phage transformation
